Jude Bellingham to replace Nemanja Matic at Man Utd
Manchester United see Birmingham City star Jude Bellingham as the ideal replacement for Nemanja Matic, reports say.
The Serbia international has impressed at Old Trafford of late, helping the club keep 14 clean sheets from the last 20 matches he’s played. But the Red Devils are still looking to the future.
Last month, United decided to trigger the option of a one-year contract extension in Matic’s contract.
It signalled quite a turnaround for the Serbia international, who had been widely tipped to leave Old Trafford during the January transfer window.
Matic has been impressive of late, starring in United’s 11-game unbeaten run before the coronavirus pandemic brought football to a crashing halt.
Despite that, however, The Athletic say United are still eyeing a long-term replacement for the former Chelsea star.
And Bellingham has the support of the Old Trafford hierarchy, with the 16-year-old sparkling in the Championship this season.

Chelsea in for Jadon Sancho
What Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich has said to Frank Lampard about Jadon Sancho transfer
Chelsea have been linked with a transfer swoop for Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho this summer.
Frank Lampard will face stiff competition from Manchester United though who are leading the race for his signature.
Chelsea are desperate to strengthen their squad in the transfer window and close the gap on the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City.
Sancho is expected to leave Dortmund in the summer but is likely to cost in excess of £100million.
The 20-year-old has been in sensational form this season, netting 17 goals and providing 19 assists in all competitions before the campaign was halted because of the coronavirus crisis.
The Evening Standard claim Roman Abramovich has told Lampard he will have the funds required to sign Sancho should he wish to do so.

No interest in Antoine Griezmann at Old Trafford
Manchester United thought they’d sign Griezmann in the summer of 2017, back when the striker was at Atletico.
Having won the Europa League, qualifying for the Champions League in the process, Jose Mourinho was confident a deal could be struck.
However, despite United agreeing personal terms with the France international, Griezmann ended up staying in the Spanish capital.
He was a big success there and, just last summer, moved to Barcelona in a massive £107million deal.
Since then, though, the 2018 World Cup winner has struggled for form – leading to talk he could be off at the end of the season.
Yet Bleacher Report say United are instead focused on signing other players, with Griezmann supposedly not in their thoughts.

Chelsea could complete Timo Werner transfer
Chelsea and Liverpool both want to sign RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner in the transfer window and the Blues could hold an advantage over the Reds.
Frank Lampard is desperate to strengthen his squad this summer.
Chelsea could be the favoured choice for Werner though because of strategy Liverpool have used in recent transfer windows.
That’s according to Football London who say Jurgen Klopp is keen to only add players who will improve his squad by a significant amount.
That was underlined by no big-money moves last summer with Adrian the only senior arrival on a free transfer after his release from West Ham and an injury to Alisson.
Chelsea could also offer Werner first-team football which may be harder to come by at Anfield.
It would be unlikely that the 24-year-old would start ahead of the likes of Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Man Utd make Jack Grealish decision
Manchester United chief Ed Woodward is chasing Aston Villa star Jack Grealish ahead of the summer transfer window. And reports say that’s because the Red Devils are unwilling to meet Leicester’s huge asking price for James Maddison.
Both playmakers have been in fine form this season for their respective clubs and have been tipped to move to Old Trafford as a result.
Manchester United want to sign a playmaker this summer, despite Bruno Fernandes sparkling since his January arrival from Sporting Lisbon.
And Grealish is currently their top choice, despite the Aston Villa star recently causing controversy by breaching quarantine rules.
That saga looked bad for the Villa star, with many slamming his behaviour and pouring doubt on a potential move to United come the summer as a result.
But The Athletic say Woodward and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer remain keen on landing the 24-year-old, despite issues over his conduct in the past.
And that’s because they feel the Villa star would be easier to sign than Leicester’s Maddison, who also has admirers over at Old Trafford.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang warned on Man Utd switch
Arsenal striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang should reject any move away from the club and stay at the Emirates, according to former Gunners hero Paul Merson. Aubameyang is out of contract at Arsenal in the summer of 2021 and is heavily linked with an exit. Manchester United are reportedly one of the clubs interested in signing the Gabon international.
“It’s easy saying ‘oh let’s move to another ambitious club and win stuff’ – there’s not a lot of trophies to win,” Merson told Sky Sports.
“When you’ve got two phenomenal football clubs at the moment in Liverpool and Manchester City, there’s not a lot that you can win.
“I was very fortunate to play for Arsenal for a very long time and it’s a great club.
“You’ve got to be careful, the grass is not always greener on the other side.
“He knows at his age now he’s going to play every week at Arsenal.
“If he goes to a Man United, if he goes somewhere else, you have four or five games playing for them and you’re out of the team.”

Jadon Sancho drops Man Utd transfer hint
Manchester United fans have been given fresh hope regarding the club’s reported pursuit of Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Jadon Sancho, after the winger gave a cheeky hint about the move while on Instagram Live.
The Dortmund winger indicated that he would be heading to Old Trafford with a subtle nod on Sunday.
United are said to be leading the way for the 20-year-old, and have reportedly made him their top target ahead of the upcoming window.
And on Instagram on Sunday, he indicated that the deal could be done.
While on a live session with fans, one supporter asked him directly to hint if he would join the Red Devils.
The comment read: “sip water if your [sic] joining United”.
After the comment was posted, Sancho reached for a nearby water bottle and took a sip while smirking.

Philippe Coutinho to Chelsea
Chelsea boss Frank Lampard is waiting for club officials to sign off on a deal to sign Barcelona ace Philippe Coutinho, according to reports in Spain.
Chelsea are said to be leading the way to sign the wantaway Brazilian forward.
Coutinho is expected to walk away from the Nou Camp this summer.
The Brazilian is said to be pining for a return to the Premier League, having failed to make an impact since his 2018 move from Liverpool.
He has spent the year on loan at Bayern Munich, but the German side doesn’t want to extend his stay.
The reason they’re reluctant to make his stay permanent is the asking price of £105million Barca have slapped on his head.
Chelsea are leading the way to sign him next summer, amid reports that they are willing to fork out to bring him in on loan.
According to Spanish outlet SPORT, Lampard is simply waiting on Stamford Bridge officials to sign off on the deal before they officially make their move.

Timo Werner keen on Liverpool move
RB Leipzig striker Timo Werner is very keen on a switch to Liverpool this summer.
That’s according to Evening Standard journalist David Lynch who has given an update on the Germany international.
“The pause in football has seemed to put the brakes on this one but I still expect Liverpool to move for Timo Werner whenever there is more certainty over the season restarting/transfer market dates. The player is very, very keen to move to Anfield.” he said in the interview with Anfield Watch.
Werner has been in sensational form this season, netting 27 goals and providing 12 assists in all competitions.
